Races and Training
Training from November
From the beginning of November, the snow is ready for ski racers to train on Reiteralm’s World Cup pistes. Efficient snow making, great staff with excellent know-how all make for ideal training conditions at Reiteralm.
Training for international race teams
During winter, many national ski teams – think Austrian Ski Team, then the ladies and men from Sweden, USA, Finland, Germany, Canada, Switzerland, Croatia – train on Reiteralm.
For Super G and Giant Slalom training, many of them head for the long, wide Gasselhöhe World Cup ski run. The slalom artistes, however, prefer a section of the Finale Grande, probably the most beautiful valley run.
Ski Reiteralm – World Cup mountain
Reiteralm ski resort hosted its first World cup race – a giant slalom won by Sweden’s superstar Ingemar Stenmark – in 1978, on 9th December. Even back then, Reiteralm was well known as snow-reliable ski mountain.
Since then, Reiteralm has proved time and again how well it hosts international and national major sport events: numerous top-level FIS races, EC races, the World Cup finals of the Masters Series 2004, as well as the Masters World Championships 2008.
Reiteralm’s series
Reiteralm’s World Cup ski-race hosting peaked between 10th December 2006 and 11th November 2007 when it welcomed five World Cup races in 11 months!
